We like to believe that we have put together something extraordinary; a rare group of seasoned and successful people at the top of their careers to bring about a new vision, revolutionary products and ethical change. We know that making a difference in the world requires the very best intentions and actions. It requires real human connection; the ability to feel the heart of another. Finding your passion isn’t just about finding a career and money. It is about learning to relinquish the ego and finding your authentic self. Although we are in the business of helping people, we set forth a culture where our people do not bury their personal needs beneath the needs of others. We understand that balance.

Where HUMN Developments are Emerging

Make Possibilities Real.

Blair J. McInnes

Founder and Chairman of the Board

Blair McInnes has as spent several decades founding, running, and investing in companies that addressed an unfulfilled need with a clear and executable vision of their market niche. As president of a Canadian company, he expanded its market into the United States where it established itself as a multi-million-dollar enterprise. McInnes also negotiated the acquisition of a Canadian IT company and brought it into the US public market to expand both the company’s access to capital as well as its shareholder value. Eight years ago, he saw what he believed to be a unique opportunity in the pharmaceutical marketplace and provided the seed capital to found Humn Pharmaceuticals. Fueled by his belief that everyone deserves affordable natural products that are safe and perform as intended, he assembled experienced management and research teams and focused the company to develop formulations that filled this void, eventually expanding these products beyond Canada and into the United States and Europe. Working with his research teams, Blair continues to help address the development of products that satisfy the demand for products in areas lacking solutions. In parallel, he coordinates with his sales team to establish distribution channels for these products.

Art Pemberton

Art Pemberton has a successful 30+ year record of strategic, executive / senior management, and consulting roles with both private and public international corporations. As the president, CEO, and board member of a $500 million manufacturing, wholesale, and retail conglomerate with over 5,000 employees, Art was involved in the retail, distribution and manufacturing aspects of the business with strategic input to operations, information technology, human resources, legal, and finance thereby substantially driving sales and profitability. He is also a recognized expert in mergers, acquisitions, and turnarounds. As the President / COO of a retail chain with five operating divisions within North America, Art negotiated the acquisition of a retail chain out of bankruptcy and within three months restructured the company to such an extent that it was able to reopen sixty-four stores on a single day. The speed of implementation, along with the financial and business expertise displayed in this restructuring, enabled the acquiring company to enhance its profitability thereby increasing profits, through both savings and revenue, by millions annually. Art is focused on overseeing the strategic aspects of product development, expanding Humn Pharmaceuticals through mergers and acquisitions, and creating the infrastructure that will allow it to function as a public company.

A native of the Philadelphia area and after graduation from the University of Pennsylvania he completed residencies and fellowships in general surgery, plastic surgery and transplant surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Temple University Hospitals, and Harvard hospitals, Massachusetts General and the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital.

He became Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Temple University in 1978, and continues his academic appointment today as Associate Professor of Surgery. Dr. Pappas entered full-time private practice in Chestnut Hill, PA in 1980 while maintaining teaching appointments for residency training at Temple and Jefferson Hospitals, and served as the Chief of the Plastic Surgery divisions at both Chestnut Hill Hospital and Roxborough Memorial Hospitals. He lectures frequently nationally and internationally on subjects relating to cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Pappas is a member of Who’s Who in America, and was included in the Commemorative issue of Who’s Who in Medicine and Science.

Recognizing the need to strive for the highest standards in aesthetic plastic surgical care on an ambulatory basis, he built the Fort Washington Surgery Center, which subsequently received Pennsylvania licensure, JCAHO and Medicare certification.  By merging selective surgical practices and incorporating an ambulatory surgical facility, he helped to form the Centers of Excellence of Aesthetic Health Care. This Center became the model for the development of other centers.

Integral to the success of these Centers, Dr. Pappas identified and preserved the core medical interests of the member surgeons, eliminated the redundancy in clerical and support personnel, standardized information and data management systems, and initiated marketing programs to generate new and stronger patient referrals. Along with co-marketing programs with correlative specialties in dermatology, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology, he established network feeder sources from regional beauty centers, day spas, and salons. These efforts significantly reduced overhead, increased the gross revenue and generated significant ‘same-store growth’ from year to year, while the surgeons enjoyed improved patient care and greater net revenues.

At present, Dr. Pappas serves a consulting role in the development and growth of The Aesthetic Health Care Center in Fort Washington and other cities. He was instrumental in developing the Centers in Jacksonville, Miami, Philadelphia, Ft. Washington, New Brunswick, and Ft. Myers.
